Each new season brings the same knee jerk reaction, and I was convinced for the longest time that it was just me. This post WILL spoil so be aware! Her close friendship with Bow, her outspoken personality and more all check out just fine in the story of She-Ra. Glimmer is an excellent supporting character by all accounts because she has a distinct desire to be different and feign excellence, and these strains on her relationships with others create great character moments for her, especially in the first few seasons where many status quos are being uprooted. So then, maybe the issue lies with her role in the thematic beats of She-Ra. But here too, I have trouble justifying my dislike.

Her powers in the original series included teleportation, levitation, and invisibility. Glimmer was designed with a stocky build at the beginning of Princesses of Power. Glimmer in the old series has this perfect body and she looks beautiful and in our version she is beautiful and she is strong. It's definitely different from what we normally know as a princess, which I love and I also love that in our show we don't mention that.
