A year earlier the church in Corinth had expressed a desire to be involved in this contribution to the poor, and so here, Paul is reminding them of their previous commitment and informing them that some of the brothers are coming to them in order to collect their gift. But, as we close in on , we see that Paul is encouraging them to have this gift ready for the brothers when they come.
