Giants mountaintop catacombs
Frustrating traps and confusing routes pepper the catacombs dungeons of Elden Ring.
It is an optional dungeon that is home to a few treasure items and a miniboss Foe. This page contains information on the location, walkthrough, and guide to traverse this dungeon, locate all of its treasure, and tips to defeat the enemies within. On the path through the Mountaintops of the Giants, head east from Zamor Ruins, and as you approach the large bridge, loop around the right-hand side just before the bridge to see a path sloping down to some double doors buried in the rock face. Beyond the Site of Grace, down the two flights of stairs, you'll enter a room lined with statues of Erdtree Burial Watchdogs. A Fanged Imp with a two-handed sword will drop from the ceiling across the room.

To find this dungeon, go north from Zamor Ruins until you reach the bridge with fire monks, then turn south east and follow the slope down to the door. To find this dungeon, start at the Zamor Ruins Grace. Continue forwards heading through the ruins eastward, then going underneath the mountain as you turn north. You'll find a bridge with a group of fire monks. There's a ledge on the east side of the encounter area, with the door at the end of said ledge. This dungeon can be disorienting due to traversing very similar sets of rooms more than once. Similar rooms will be numbered to help. From the Site of Grace go down two flights of stairs, an Imp will be hanging off the far wall to jump onto you. The room straight ahead will have another imp on the wall, a second one will ambush you from the right once you enter. Pick up the Grave Glovewort 7 , then turn around and to the left. After fighting past two more imps, you will reach an elevator Elevator 1 which you should take down. The elevator has another platform which will be accessible to you now. Take it down to reach the lowest level of the catacombs. There is an imp here and a Lesser Burial Watchdog , the magical variant. You can cheese it slightly using the stairs.
I somehow died TWICE on the second set of giants mountaintop catacombs blades with k souls in the bagadding insult to injury. And get some fire arrows to deal with those pesky exploding jars. In the previous room, to the north, giants mountaintop catacombs, head down the next flight of stairs is another room with two Fanged Imps, one on the opposite end and one that will drop from the ceiling in the center of the room.
An Imp will throw knives from the end of the room, and another one will drop from the ceiling. Now, proceed left to a room full of three imps; one will ambush, and two will throw pots from afar. Kill them, then use the second elevator that has chains. Move south to a large room that has a statue and make a way to the right, climb the stairs, and go to another room on the left without stepping on the trap. This area is full of giant blades going up and down as well as Exploding Living Jars.

Keep moving forward while ignoring the Elden Ring enemies and exit the room quickly to enter another one. Without stepping on the trap, drop from the window to the left, then drop again. Head north to a chained elevator and activate it but stay on the ground , as it will reveal a path.

Continue forwards heading through the ruins eastward, then going underneath the mountain as you turn north. Not confusing but this is probably one of the worst dungeons in the game just because you have to start at the very start while going throuhg numerous enemies, multiple elevators and drops, and dealing with three hidden gatcha imps at the end of one far path and a giant lesser watchdog they didn't bother to animate properly so it can hit you degrees behind it instantly and you can't even visibly see signs to dodge. Immediately in front of you will be an imp with its back turned, which can be easily backstabbed. Did a second passthrough of the whole dungeon casting law of regression everywhere and found nothing else. Be wary of the Small Living Jars here, as they cannot be target locked whilst they are hiding and will attempt to explode on you if disturbed. Rotten breath on the big one wiped out even more of them. After this, you will come to an elevator suspended by chains. Well I guess since almost everyone here played blindly, it was a confusing dungeon, but I followed the guide and it's ironically my favourite dungeon design. Mobs are tanky and hit like a truck, asshat imps. Keep moving forward while ignoring the Elden Ring enemies and exit the room quickly to enter another one. At the back of this room is a Ritual Pot. Okay, let me sum this up: - Confusing design - Imp infested - Exploding jars - Poison land squirts - Watchdogs in tiny rooms - Little to zero reward - Stepping traps - Frost spitting pillars And you still got the nerve on you to put a goddamn Erd Tree Spirit as final boss?! Drop down through the hole below , into the room containing the Large Living Jar and two holes in the floor. Come come ladies and gentlemen. There is another illusory wall leading to a single level 7 grave glovewort and an imp in the right side of the corridor just before the room with the fire monk ashes looking towards the room.

Not exactly fun. Though it is almost an exact copy, this is not the same room as before. Go south and you will see an imp walking away from you into a room. Now, proceed left to a room full of three imps; one will ambush, and two will throw pots from afar. A huge impossibly fast boss in an enclosed space, and no Stake of Marika forcing you to go past effing imps again to get to the boss door. Its meant to play with your knowledge of how these dungeons work, showing you the location of the lever but then dropping you into an identical copy of the room with no lever and different more dangerous enemies. However if you fall into them you will end up in Statue Room 1 and will have to traverse the entire loop again. Continue moving north into the room with the frost-breathing statue. Cross over to the lever and pull it , watching out for the jars on the way. A major fire-based attack to be extremely cautious of is when the Spirit begins to emanate flames all over its body in a yellow aura before exploding out in a large sphere. At least there's no poison or rot swamp in this catacomb I guess. In general I don't mind bosses being recycled but with Ulcerated Tree Spirit they took it too far.
Quite right! It is good thought. I call for active discussion.
I congratulate, the excellent answer.
