When you take a look at the roster of Mortal Kombat 1 to choose your character, you'll see that Geras comes back as a playable character again. In addition, he is returning as one of the two Keepers of Time alongside Liu Kang. Geras plays a crucial role in the new timeline as a Guardian of the Hourglass under Liu Kang. In this game, he is one of the hardest characters to learn. However, this doesn't make him impossible, especially with his impressive powers.

Overall, Geras looks like a mix of several old school MK designs, complete with the trademark Mortal Kombat loincloth This time, it seems like the designers didn't know when to stop drawing his loincloth. I feel like I've seen this design before in some background of a prior MK game.

After both Kano's agree to repair and begin production of more Cyber Lin Kuei, Geras assures the past incarnation of Erron Black that they will receive their payment.
