My Headgardener is capable of answering all my gardening questions and keeps me well informed and well guided in all matters horticultural. There is no worse group of students in the world that schoolteachers. This latter observation is based on years of presenting summer programmes to primary school teachers and experiencing those who spent the time amusing themselves by seeking constant discussion and argument to disrupt the presentation, those who simply stay outside the door and smoke and even those who sit inside and read the newspaper. There certainly are gardening gurus in the world who have had the education and experience which made them such. On the other hand are the self-appointed gurus, many of whom lack the experience and the education to warrant the title and very often their gardens betray their false claims.
