Make your favorite piece the prince of your closet! This was my very first commission, I made it for a good friend of mine Will Denney Owner of Carolina vintage who later shared a booth with me at my first pop-up. I was commissioned to rework his vintage Nike hoodie with a specific tapestry. Originally I tried to make a sleeve but the fabric was too stiff to make a good sleeve. It took adding another fabric and changing the way I approached the project.

I took a stained carhartt hoodie Bought from SteezeFinds with a ripped front pocket and reworked it with a vintage Coogi shirt I thrifted from Rag-O-Rama in Atlanta back in high school, fresh prince designs.

The show is a relic of the decade. With star-studded cameos hey, Tyra Banks and sitcom shenanigans galore, the show is filled with memorable moments. One of the best parts is every character takes the trends of the time and really makes them their own. Ah, Carlton. The only thing as iconic as his sweater vests is his namesake dance. From his polo shirts to his Ivy League dreams, he embodies all things preppy. Some may argue that Carlton plays it safe with his polos and khakis, but I love the way he leans into the preppy look. I think Carlton would be a fan of Rowing Blazers , a brand that brings an air of light-heartedness and fun to the oft-seen as rigid, plain jane world of prep.

I started Fresh Prince Fits designs as a sustainable alternative to fast fashion. I grew up watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and always loved how Will Smith challenged fashion stereotypes by being completely and uniquely himself. Now Alston, an actor himself, is pushing the boundaries of local fashion, exploring what it can be and mean through Fresh Prince Fits Designs. When Brandon Alston walked through the front door of Kudu, a coffee shop just a few blocks from the College of Charleston campus, the barista behind the counter took a step back in wide-eyed recognition. You are a surgeon. A clinical light hangs over your head. You have taken to your work, eyeing your patient with a hungry anticipation.
