Ari Rockefeller arirockefeller. Posted: Feb 26, Very simply, the L and R buttons on my DSi don't work anymore. Will I have to take apart my DS to fix it? It may have been the yogurt or hot chocolate that got spilled on it, but one of my shoulder buttons is very unreliable. I fixed it by dipping the switch in isopropyl, but it was only temporary. So how do I fix my L button permanently. Im on my 2nd Ds now and on my last one i broke my L button off the circuit board because I blew into it too much. Nobody please recommend blowing into it. OlorinTheOtaku 5 years ago 2. Firstly, why would you blow your L button, and second, how could doing that "brake it off the circuit board"? Just because something is fictional doesn't mean it's not real. DS switches are dirt cheap on Ebay.

After that, just used compressed air to take alcohol from inside the buttons and now works like new! The reason why the compressed air trick will not work because the mechanism inside the trigger was sealed! Will I have to take apart my DS to fix it? Use if if you don't have a magnet.
