Elsa's ice powers are at the heart of the Frozen franchise, which sees the Queen of Arendelle learning to embrace, and then understand the nature of, her mysterious magical gift. The franchise managed to hold onto its previous fanbase, as well as capture the young eyes of a whole new generation when Frozen 2 was released six years later in Elsa demonstrates powerful magical abilities from a young age. Frozen 2 shows Elsa exercising greater control over a growing set of abilities. Elsa can freeze, melt, and move very large bodies of water and ice. Elsa freezes the fjord surrounding Arendelle and, later, a forceful torrent unleashed from a broken dam without becoming visibly exhausted. Both times that Elsa freezes the massive amounts of water, she also proves that she is able to reverse these effects and melt the ice. And when Elsa learns that Olaf has melted, she retrieves his watery remains or "memory" from a waterfall far away and brings him back to Arendelle — still in water form — showing that she can control water as well as ice. Elsa can create ice out of seemingly nothing.

Anna and Elsa will have to face elemental spirits in "Frozen 2," and each element is represented by a diamond-shaped symbol — the same ones you've been shown in each trailer for the movie.
