In most of stations in MRT Kajang Line and Putrajaya Line, the project owner has set up feeder buses which is to enhance the convenience of commuters to reach feeder bus mrt final destination. Following a call-out by Malaysiakini on social media, 13 MRT users volunteered to note the time they arrive at the bus stop or MRT station, and the time they depart on the feeder bus on weekdays over two weeks. Its primary area of service is Choa Chu Kang Neighbourhoods 2 and 4. The route used to ply Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5 twice in one trip, calling at different bus stops in either direction. Due to road extension works, Service was unofficially extended to loop at Keat Hong Close after the roundabout at the end of Choa Chu Kang Ave 5 was removed in January However, it did not serve the two new pairs of bus stops along the extended route. This would be renumbered Service G. At the same time, new Service W would be introduced, plying the exact same route as G but in the clockwise direction.

The station was opened on 17 July as part of the second phase operations of the line. It is also well known for being located near two large shopping complexes - MyTown Shopping Centre housing Malaysia's second IKEA store and Sunway Velocity Mall , with the former being connected to the station via an underground pedestrian linkway and the latter via an elevated pedestrian bridge. The location is part of an area previously occupied by quarters housing government servants.
