This is the boss encountered at the end of Layer 2 Floor 2, for its namesake, see Ethiron. The Scion of Ethiron is a boss encountered at the end of the second floor of the Eternal Gale. It is tied to Ethiron as it, in some way, and acts as its guardian. After being woken by a swirling ball of purple energy, it takes the form of a skeletal monster whose body is missing the pelvis and below. The ribcage is filled by purple feathers. The skull is tetrahedron-like, with a purple-pink hue and a yellow fibre protruding from each of the four corners. Between the sternum and clavicle, there is a large red circle. It can shoot bone like projectiles with an unlimited supply, as well as summon bones from the ground. It can also make use of purple energy to attack, creating swirling spheres of it that can cause blindness or fire it in beams. Upon defeat, 5 chests containing Krysan Medallions will re-spawn in random areas on Floor 2. These bright pink chests contain up to 7 medals, which can be exchanged at Klaris for dyes, enchantments, and Dawnwalker. Furthermore, defeating the boss allows you to keep any all loot obtained in Floor 2. In addition, a Boss Chest containing end-game weapons, rare rings, multitudes of Deep Gems, and possible Legendary Weapons. Finally, the player will receive a significant amount of experience, heavy Resonance progression, as well as Diver reputation. However, it also destabilises the layer, requiring immediate extraction to Scyphozia via a Light Hook placed at the front of the City.

If you've entered Second Layer through Castle Light , you'll have a light hook, which is your safety net, allowing you to die in Second Layer and be sent back to Castle Light at the cost of being unable to bring anything from Second Layer with you. This light hook lasts 20 minutes. However, with each expedition the hook degrades, and needs to recharge. The amount of time for the light hook to be fully recharged, you need to wait however long you were in Second Layer with the light hook plus minutes For example if you use 10 minutes of your light hook you must wait 18 minutes in realtime before the light hook is fully recharged. If you kill Chaser it will get back the 20 minutes once you escape, this also works with the Scion of Ethiron.

Ethiron seemingly emits a fog known as Mist Presence, which eventually brainwashed them and the Lost Divers into worshipping them and devoting themselves to helping the Scion of Ethiron grow. Ethiron is one of the most powerful beings in Deepwoken due to being a Drowned God, the phenomena in Layer 2 showing some of their tremendous powers despite being in a state of "sleep". Their powers appear to be total control of the Eternal Gale and any forms of gale, mind control, specially in Floor 2 showing how the Mist Presence produced by Ethiron controls the Krysgarde, the Lost Divers and the ability of time manipulation. This is unknown to be intentional or not, but is certain that Ethiron can control how time flows around their domains and near their being.
