Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, has opened up about her lifelong love of music and teaching music at Wansbeck Primary School in Hull. In an interview with The Telegraph, Duchess Katharine, who is married to the Queen's cousin, Prince Edward, The Duke of Kent, explained how she will listen to anything that catches her ear on the radio - even rap music. She has previously declared a fondness for the boy band Blue and has just shared her interest in rappers. The year-old, whose full name is Katharine Lucy Mary Worsley, went on to admit that even thrash metal music wasn't out of the realm of possibility for her. She claimed she'd give it a go but "possibly not for long", adding: "My husband likes music, but very serious music.

During the service, there were magnificent solo performances from bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel , soprano Pretty Yende and baritone, Roderick Williams , with a special coronation orchestra conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano and a coronation choir under the baton of Andrew Nethsingha. There were also several newly commissioned works in the service, celebrating leading British composers, alongside great anthems and organ works by Byrd, Elgar and Parry. His Majesty the King commissioned twelve new pieces of music for his coronation: six orchestral, five choral and one organ commission, all from world-renowned British composers. Andrew Nethsingha, who last year was appointed organist and master of the choristers at Westminster Abbey , directed the music during the service and oversaw all the musical arrangements. A small group of singers from The Monteverdi Choir also joined the main choral ensemble for the service.

King Charles III will officially be crowned alongside wife Camilla Parker-Bowles on May 6, and the royal family are preparing themselves for a big weekend of celebrations and new traditions.
