This guy and Maliketh are the only 2 bosses I genuinely dread having to fight on every playthrough. He's been getting a bad rep as extremely dangerous and very difficult. The giant jumps in the air, and slams the large lid on the ground. For the 2nd phase, I found the best place to be is right in front of him, just ever so slightly in reach of his arms. Summons a giant orb of fire which slowly moves towards the player, exploding when it gets close enough. Fire Giant deals an insanely high amount of damage with all attacks, and us sorcerers typically will not survive being hit by him. This boss caused me so much pain on my first playthrough of Elden Ring. He's pretty small for a giant considering how large some of the skeletons are in the area. Finally beat this guy on an RL1 run, solo. I tried many times beating him with rock sling, then I switched to night comet and deleted him. Alas, there is Fire Giant sized obstacle in the way. The Fire Giant is a survivor of the War against the Giants.
One of the most memorable main story bosses in Elden Ring is the final hurdle that the Tarnished must face in the Mountaintops of the Giants before setting the Erdtree aflame. To reach the Fire Giant, the player must travel along the frozen lake into the higher plateaus in the southern area of the mountaintops.
Tried this fight last night for the first time. Although the Fire Giant is less mobile in this phase, his attacks have wide arcs that are more easily avoided on horseback than they are on foot. Fire Giant boss fight phase one: Attack the Giant's leg The first phase is the hardest of the two, believe it or not. Upon realizing the flames of their forge would never die, Queen Marika marked him with a curse. The tactic is the same: bait the explosion and dodge or sprint away so you can focus on the boss. I tried many times beating him with rock sling, then I switched to night comet and deleted him. When phase two begins you'll be sitting a lot better than you were in phase one. You can use him to safely close the distance again if needed, dismount i-framing through his attacks. The Mimic Tear Ashes is an obvious choice, too. Real nice design here. I loved this boss, I don't think he's particularly difficult, but it was still a fun fight.
