EdShed, or Education Shed Ltd, as our accountant calls us, is the umbrella for several educational products edshed brands, edshed. We are a company run by teachers for teachers.

Welcome to EdShed. We are an education company run by teachers, for teachers. Our products encapsulate traditional teaching resources along with technology and are designed based on current research and proven pedagogy. We were founded in by Martin Saunders and Rob Smith after a conversation about improving how spelling was taught in primary schools. We launched Spelling Shed as a relatively simple app shortly after and it's escalated ever since. Now, we serve over two million learners in schools and households across countries for a range of products. As educators ourselves, it is a huge privilege to be able to affect so many children and educators in a positive way and to deliver the most impact with the least hassle.

Our independent research partner, McREL International, have analyzed our product and developed a research-driven logic model and evaluation plan for our curriculum and technology. Joe is your guide in the Phonics Shed garden and will introduce you to all of our characters. Each character you meet will teach you a new reading sound, or grapheme. Our platform can be used as a complete whole-school spelling solution. Our scheme has been created following key ELA spelling objectives and will take children through the statutory and non-statutory spelling lists in each age phase. The curriculum is broken up into a weekly progression with a Spelling Shed list for each week plus printable activities and resources to aid teaching. With over 4, spellings from the ELA spelling standards, including disambiguation phrases for homophones, teachers will be able to track pupils progress through the objectives from Y1 — Y6. Our app also allows full offline play and scanning of QR codes to both import lists as well as for pupils to sign in to their account. Our online game mirrors our app and functions on all current desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile devices. When a school has any subscription, students can access our online game using their account from any location. For subscribers, our teacher hub allows teachers to manage pupil groups, set assignments and view pupil attainment data.
