B5 Models Please discuss all - B5 A4 topics here Thread Tools. I recently got a check engine light on my A4 Quattro with about K miles. After doing some reading, it appears that it is either an 02 sensor, MAF sensor or vacuum hose leak around the engine. I replaced my MAF sensor not 5 thousand miles ago, so I'm pretty confident it's not that. Personally I think it's a vacuum hose leak, but I'm not sure how to go about checking for that.. Should I just inspect hoses around the engine while the car is running and listen for a hissing noise or something? I know its easy and cheap to replace them so I'm more than willing to do it myself, in fact I don't want to bring it anywhere because every mechanic I've been to screws me or tries real hard to. If anyone has any other suggestions as to what might cause this code, I am open to advice. I realize a lot of things can cause a code like this to pop up so I'm not ruling anything out just yet, but I'm pretty confident it's a vacuum hose leak. View Public Profile. The car is standard other than a Blow Off Valve which I'll be removingRamAir intake and Milltek Cat Back - all of which have been on the car for a fair few thousand miles, dtc p0171 audi.
Thread Tools. Well got in my car today after coming back from the car wash to clean up and take care of my debadging I did and she decides to pay me back by throwing on the check engine light next time I went out. I do not know what that means at all or where to start at all besides knowing it has to do something with fuel and it is not getting enough fuel I would assume. Curious if anyone has any idea what it could be or if there is something common or notorious that it could be. Background information. Bought car used, about a month ago. At time of purchase timing belt and water pump done.

Home ยป OBD Codes. A P code appears in the engine control unit when the oxygen sensor on bank 1 recognizes too lean of an air-fuel mixture for the sensor to correct it. Several different things could cause this trouble code. Here is what you need to know about the P code. The P code indicates that the oxygen O2 sensor on bank 1 sent a signal to the engine control module that the air-fuel mixture is too lean to be corrected.
