Diy acrylic cutting machine
About a year ago, I wanted to buy a CO2 lasercutter to make my workspace complete.
From that time I seriously wanted one of those machines. I searched couple of times on eBay and Amazon to know the price, but they were still expensive. I could never really justify the expense. Note : This Instructable is not sponsored, Gearbest sent me this Laser Engraver to review, they did not paid me. This is not to promote the product, rather it is intended to help others and to share my experience on Laser Engraving.

Everyone knows that in order to become a qualified maker or DIYer, using a laser cutter is basically a required course for entry, but there may be many problems. If you can build one yourself, will the problem be solved easily? The project I want to share is a laser cutting machine made last year. I believe everyone is familiar with the laser cutter Also known as a laser engraver for the reason that it can do laser-engraved jobs , and it is also an artifact for makers to make projects. Its advantages such as rapid processing, efficient use of plates, and the realization of cutting technology that traditional processes cannot achieve are deeply loved by everyone. Usually when using a CNC machine for working, there are the following problems compared to laser cutting, it needs to install and change the tool before working, tool setting, excessive noise, long processing time, dust pollution, tool radius and other problems. The superiority of cutting led to the idea of making a laser cutter machine by yourself. After having this idea, I started to carry out a feasibility study on this idea. After multiple researches and comparisons of various types of laser cutter machines, combined with its own conditions and processing needs, after weighing the pros and cons, I have made a step-by-step building plan with modular design and making, which are detachable and upgradeable. After 60 days, each part of the machine adopts a modular design. Through the concept of modularization, the processing and production are convenient, and the final assembly is enough, and the financial pressure will not be too great, and the required parts can be purchased step by step.
Parts Box : 6 small acrylic frames,Screws, timing belt, pulleys, washers and spacers 8. For the copper pipes, i bought three 12 mm copper pipes of 1 m together with two female to female elbows and two male to female elbows and just soldered them like you can see on the picture. Are you a DIY enthusiast looking to take your creativity to the next level? Have you ever considered building your own DIY laser cutter or engraver? Laser cutters and engravers have traditionally been expensive machines reserved for industrial use only. However, with the rise of the maker movement, many DIY enthusiasts have taken on the challenge of building their own laser cutters and engravers. These machines have become very popular for their uses in different industries such as automative, medical, packages and metal working for their ability to create complex designs and patterns quickly and accurately.

In order to have a successful laser cutting machine project, you must first understand what makes them tick. Read this article to learn more about these amazing machines! A laser cutting machine is an essential tool for any hobbyist that wants to create custom acrylic projects. The best laser cutters like the xTool S1 use innovative technology to combine two laser beams into one laser source. The power of the 10W dual laser is equivalent to a single laser cutting machine. The compressed spot has higher power, higher cutting ability, faster speed, and better effects under the same electric power. The first type uses an infrared beam of light to cut through materials. The second type uses a visible red laser beam to cut through materials. If you are looking for a laser cutting machine, there are several things you should consider before making your purchase decision. First, you need to determine whether you will use the machine primarily for acrylic material, non-metal materials, metals, or wood.

Jan 17, 4 Min Read. Safety Goggles 9. I really hope you like this project as much as I do! Now that we have mounted the axis, stepper motors and other 3D printed parts, it's time to mount the plates. Laser Tube Control System Setup 1. After several working houres of your lasercutter, you'll have to redo this step. The whole project production involves seven major parts, namely: motion control system, mechanical structure design, laser tube control system, light guide system, air blowing and exhaust system, lighting focusing system, operation optimization and other aspects. You'll see, this is very easy and only takes 15 minutes of your time. This is important and needs to be done correctly because as you know, the laser beam is guided to the right direction with the use of mirrors. The output signal is connected from the main board to control the solenoid valve, and the solenoid valve controls the air pump to blow air. Of course, after subsequent tests, it was found that the two-phase 57 stepper motor is fully capable of high-speed movement of the X-axis when laser scanning photos, so I will use it for the time being, and replace the motor if it needs to be upgraded later. The cover can be mounted when the rest is done. At the same time, I am very grateful for the help of the industry leaders, which made the project less detours.

Now, slide the Y-axis to the furthest point of the axis and push the testbutton again. That is why I built my own machine. The one for the x-axis can be set on 1,8A. As I have explained the details of assembling process in my video, I am not interested to write the long process : Hope You can understand the situations. You can download it from the Benbox website or download the zip file attached below. Laser Cut Wood Projects After installation, I can't wait to make a trial cut of the 6mm multi-layer board, which can be cut through smoothly, and the effect is very ideal. To build a machine frame in the living room, it is too large to fit. The cover won't be as heavy as it is now. Why build a small machine when you can build a big one? Allways use safety goggles when testing the laser. Assemble the XY axis and the machine frame, put the completed frame on the mobile platform, and then install the debugged XY axis on the machine frame.
Bravo, your idea simply excellent
