Utila is a small island off the coast of Honduras in the Caribbean. I must say that it took me a while to warm up to Utila.

During this course, one of our Instructors will guide you during 5 open water specialty dives of your choice. The course also emphasizes the importance of directly observing and managing the physiological effects of deeper scuba diving, safety considerations, and potential challenges. This training equips divers with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the underwater world with increased confidence and competence, preparing them for new adventures in the deep blue. You'll learn how to navigate using a compass, natural landmarks and by estimating distances underwater. This training involves exercises to familiarize you with the challenges and peculiarities of underwater orientation, like learning to estimate distance underwater, navigate different search patterns, find your way to marking points, and return to the exit point. The course promotes the mastery of advanced navigation techniques, enabling you to increase your confidence, improve your underwater orientation skills and enhance your overall diving experience. By the end of this course, you'll feel more in control and confident in your diving explorations, adding more fun and safety to your dives.

We also regularly operate night dives, which each count as 2 dives from a cost perspective. We limit our fun diver groups to a maximum of 6 divers to 1 guide — the smallest on the island!

Deep Diver Speciality. Join us for all your fun dives on Utila. This course unveils the techniques and benefits of sidemount diving, a configuration that offers enhanced flexibility, streamlined movement, and extended dive times by allowing divers to mount extra cylinders at their sides. They tended to all levels of expertise- we had a diver being certified in our group with other experienced divers. Pumpkin Hill Beach is a secluded beach with calm waters and surrounded by nature. This is dry season in Utila and during this time of the year you might have a bigger selection of dive sites to choose from because of the good weather. La Casita offers a mix of local foods, Mexican dishes and European dishes. The boats can only go to the North Shore when the weather conditions are good and usually, they only go there in the morning. Select Collection. Easy access to the water and to the boat again after! The Mango Inn is away from the main settlement of Utila in quiet gardens, yet is only a few minutes walk from all amenities and conveniences should you need to procure any items or accessories.
