Although Germans are stereotyped outside Germany as being Lederhosen-wearing, Dirndl-clad folk, this traditional style of dress is inherently Bavarian, and you will not see it worn anywhere outside Bavaria except perhaps at beer festivals, for fashion rather than for tradition.
