Lackluster performers are thin on the ground in this series, but some pairs have more intense chemistry than others, and when two great performers share that kind of spark in addition to the kindling supplied by the story, that can really be a conflagration. The first season was so faithful to the book it had most fans spending the better part of each episode dancing jigs of joy on the couch. This is one of the big advantages of making changes to the books, and is no doubt the kind of thing the producers were hoping for when they made all those other adjustments — just that most of the other adjustments were kind of crap. Both Arya and Tywin are looking for someone to listen to them, and the immediate mutual respect that each feels for the intelligence of the other is the first step in that wish being realised. In her turn, Arya is able to speak to him about the emotions and goals of her own life. So where does this mutual respect actually come from?

One of the biggest reunions fans are expecting to see in Game of Thrones Season 7 is all the living Stark children arriving back home in Winterfell for the first time since Season 1. But so many of the Starks have changed over the years, specifically Bran, who got hit with the puberty stick pretty hard, and Arya, who has been to Essos and back. Well, one person in Winterfell might know Arya, as he's seen her more recently than her brothers and sisters. Littlefinger, who you might remember, stopped by Harrenhal in Season 2 for some wheeling and dealing with Tywin Lannister. At the time Arya was working as Tywin's cupbearer. Tywin knew she was a northerner and high-born to boot. But he didn't know she was that northerner or that highborn, or he would never have let her escape. But then again, he hadn't been in King's Landing the season prior to actually know her as Ned Stark's daughter. Littlefinger, on the other hand, had not only just been in King's Landing and seen her regularly, he also knew Arya had gone missing the day Ned was killed. Arya certainly recognized the man who got her father arrested. But did he recognize her? Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Aidan Gillen who plays Littlefinger says at the time they filmed that scene, he was acting as though Littlefinger knew exactly who she was
Toni Hanson says:. Log in now. Since Littlefinger is a renowned schemer, he probably felt it was to his own benefit to keep that interesting piece of information to himself until it became useful.
It's obvious that Lord Tywin knew Arya was a Northern girl of noble birth. Then would it have been really far-fetched to assume this was another Northern noblewoman they were searching for. I guess making the assumption that Arya ran from King's Landing all the way to Harrenhal may be a bit far-fetched. But, he still should've tried to find out more about her. What if she was related to one of Robb's vassals, who they could hold as a bargaining chip?
The early seasons of Game of Thrones were really something to behold. There was an ever-expanding thread of great characters and great plotlines, and when some of those met, it was delightful to watch - although not necessarily the same for them, of course. It's incredible how David Benioff and D. Weiss managed to have all that happening within the frame of a episode season, given the complexity of the characters and their original book arcs. But there's one unlikely meeting of characters that is special in that sense, because, while Game of Thrones is an adaptation of George R. This incredible arc happened in Season 2 and greatly improved both characters' journeys in ways that the novels only wished they had. Nine noble families fight for control over the lands of Westeros while an ancient enemy returns after being dormant for millennia. In response, Arya's oldest brother, Robb Richard Madden , leads their homeland, the North, against the Lannisters and declares independence.

Arya disguised herself as a cupbearer to Tywin Lannister during Game Of Thrones season 2, but did he or Littlefinger ever realize her true identity? Over the course of its first few seasons Game Of Thrones became one of the biggest shows in the world, thanks to its epic scale, a wealth of great characters and shocking twists. Game Of Thrones is remembered for iconic sequences like the downright traumatizing Red Wedding or The Battle Of The Basterds, but many would agree the series lost some of its edge when it started to overtake the source material. Seasons 7 and 8 proved particularly disappointing to some, with their shorten episode run making it feel like the show was more concerned with wrapping up then ending on a high note. Still, the importance of Game Of Thrones on the television landscape can't be underestimated, and the franchise is set to continue with forthcoming prequel House Of The Dragon. A series of events saw her in Harrenhal castle and becoming cupbearer to Tywin Lannister himself, who is waging war against her brother Robb and others seeking to claim the throne for themselves. Tywin famously doesn't suffer fools gladly and grew an attachment to his unusually bright cupbearer. Tywin soon figures out that she isn't a commoner despite trying to disguise herself as one. Some fans have wondered if Tywin was ever suspicious of her true identity and realized she was a Stark, but this is unlikely.
