Some time ago I remember reading some discussion about the possibility that some Brazilian engine builders were using a wider stud spaced engine barrel Zong. I did some searches but couldn't find the thread. I'm thinking of my next project, and if they are doing it, it might be a LOT simpler to get some parts and ideas from Brazil. Just wild brainstorming options at the moment. It doen't help me much with my question. Look like they may have used the original cylinder with some mods. Can anyone who has has intimate experience with this engine comment on the possibility of welding and retapping the cases for the wider stud spacing and lining up of the cam drive and anything else top end oil supply?

Has anyone learned anything newer? Fits new "L" "M" models also. They needed the piston so the bore can be precisely matched.
