Crabtree boat club

Located 10 mins walk from the centre of town, it is easily accessible from any college in Cambridge. The Goldie Boathouse is named after J. Goldie, who rowed in four Boat Races against Oxford from to winning three. It was built in , with significant extensions and improvements in and Today it remains the centrepiece of rowing culture on the River Cam, flanked by college and town club boathouses. On the water we train on the River Ouse at Ely. We get there by Club minibus or train from Cambridge. The Ely boathouse was built to fulfil the training needs of all the men and women of Cambridge University Boat Club, so that we can all boat from the same base. We are fortunate to row on a river that reputedly never floods! Rowing at Ely consistently provides good water over an almost limitless distance. The boathouse features a wet dock, four bays, rooms to rest, stretch and eat between sessions and a landing stage for three eights. It is a place for hard athletic work, and as we walk in each day we are reminded of our purpose.
