The Cotton House Hotel gets its name as it stands on the site of the former headquarters of the 19th-century Cotton Textile Foundation. The original elements of the building have been conserved, such as the gorgeous marble staircase, delicate ceiling embellishments, floors, and walls in some of the rooms. The famous spiral staircase was built in , the main feature of which is that it is not supported on the floor below, but is suspended from the metal frame of the upper floor, gives the hotel a light and airy aspect.
