The Music of the Spheres World Tour is the eighth concert tour by Coldplay , in support of their ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres , which was released on 15 October Coldplay and a number of leading environmental experts worked on the plan for over two years, and it includes a number of innovative sustainability strategies. For example, the band has collaborated with BMW to develop the first "mobile, rechargeable show battery" to power each concert on the tour, and the stage will be constructed from "a combination of lightweight, low-carbon, and re-usable materials including bamboo and recycled steel that can be properly reused or recycled at the end of the tour. The tour, like the Mylo Xyloto Tour and the A Head Full of Dreams Tour, will include extensive pyrotechnic and confetti visuals, as well as a third generation of Xylobands for audience members to wear.
