For the first time in years, Activision chose to let loose the latest installment in the series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 , on Steam in rather than making it exclusive to Battle. And while this release on Steam led to Modern Warfare 2 bringing in a ton of additional sales on PC, Activision has now opted to add a handful of other entries on the marketplace as well. These were three of the most notable games in the Call of Duty series that never came to Steam, which means their addition now helps make the franchise almost fully playable on the PC platform. Given that this entry didn't feature a campaign, though, Activision may never bring it to Steam as its multiplayer component is essentially dead. This deal is set to last for roughly two weeks and will expire on March 23rd. So if you'd like to pick any of them up soon, you might want to do so sooner rather than later. Black Ops 4 is the first mainline Call of Duty title without a traditional single-player campaign mode. Instead, it features the Specialist HQ, which focuses on the backstories of the game's multiplayer characters, known as "Specialists". The multiplayer mode is the first in the series to not feature automatic health regeneration and introduces both predictive recoil and a new ballistics system. The game included three Zombies experiences on release day, four if a special edition of the game, or the Black Ops Pass, was purchased. The game also introduced a battle royale mode called Blackout, which features up to players in each match. Many characters from this and other Black Ops titles can be used as the player's character model in this mode. Treyarch chose not to create a traditional singleplayer campaign for the game at the beginning of production, instead focusing on a new 'Career' mode with a greater focus on the multiplayer aspect.

While there have been attempts at innovation over the years with wall running and jetpacks to help spice up the action, it still centres around the good old run and gun FPS gameplay that CoD is known for. Black Ops has always been a little more story intensive than the regular COD games, focusing more on the events and developments of characters themselves, rather than their place in a much wider conflict. Treyarch has taken the decision to not include a single-player campaign, and has instead replaced it with a Battle Royale Mode to compliment the online multiplayer and zombies mode.
