The Clawmark Seal is a Weapon for characters that wish to use beast Incantations without investing in faith. Clawmark Seal can be used to cast certain spells that need to be memorized first. This Seal is much less visible than the staff, so someone could perform a surprise magic attack while fighting against enemy players, clawmark seal. Sacred invocations must be memorized first at a site of lost grace, and a clawmark seal seal must be equipped to cast them.

I've seen a few comments here and elsewhere that you should just get the bare minimum requirements for the beast spells and stick with those, meaning cap FAI at 15, but the scaling doesn't quite reward pumping STR that much.
