Cilantro restaurant review

Greetings guys! I recently had the pleasure of dining at this multi-cuisine haven in Kado, Abuja: De Cascade by Cilantro.

A fine dining restaurant known as Cilantro Lagos opened its doors to customers in March , with a mission to change the Indian cuisine narrative in Nigeria. There is an incredibly positive energy that exudes from Cilantro. A long row of well-lit fountains and thick palms welcomes you from the gate to the main entrance, leading to a beautiful wooden desk. From there, you can stroll into their magnificent outdoor space, a magical garden. The space is simply beautiful. The combination of the stunning landscaping made up of giant palm trees, flowers sprouting along the perimeter and the centerpiece fountain, all perfectly lit to highlight the beauty of the outdoor space, will leave you reluctant to ever leave!

Needless to say, Cilantro Restaurant has been on my to-go list for quite some time now. Having trained in Michelin starred restaurants in France, and as the former chef de cuisine at the Japanese embassy a short distance away, you know you are in good hands. Upon arrival, we were ushered into a spacious crescent shaped booth, already the famed truffle butter sat there waiting. If you are going on any regular day, the set menus should be your best bet. Just one of each and you would have already spent more than the Discover 3-course set. For even better value, look out for their Dinner Specials on Wednesdays. Then, for just RM, you get a substantial fare of three courses of appetizers, a main course and a dessert. Now, THAT is a steal! As at any proper French restaurant, it is customary to have bread to start, and boy were these a good spread. Served with truffle butter, the bread was so good, the brioche in particular.

Decascade covers a huge space, and the outdoor dining area is where the attraction really is. There were smaller bits of seafood inside the pasta as well. Milky, smooth, sweet with a huge punch of umami. I love the moistness of the filling and the curried potatoes and chickpeas. No need to beat about the bush here. Also, the sandwich was Cheesy and stringy, which I liked. Overall, I have to say I expected more from the restaurant.

The drink was visually appealing and had a refreshing taste, but it was a bit too sweet and tasted like orange Fanta. The indoor dining area looked like a well-furnished hut. Taste wise, there is still that unmistakable familiarity of a tiramisu, but each element was distinct and stood out on its own making a harmonious contrast of textures. It was delicious that we polished everything; so delicious that we requested for two more! I recently had the pleasure of dining at this multi-cuisine haven in Kado, Abuja: De Cascade by Cilantro. There is an incredibly positive energy that exudes from Cilantro. The flavor profile was great, and the texture was good too. Moving to our mains which were the butter chicken, biryani and pizza. Review: Cilantro Victoria Island, Lagos. We gave it a shot, hoping to be enlightened but were left a little confused instead. The menu here is a bit too wide for my liking. Overall, it was underwhelming.
