To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. The slightest wobble makes it stop charging. I don't understand how this can be a plausible stereo headphone port replacement on iPhone 7. It is a bad connector with a truly limited lifespan which doesn't maintain a secure fitting unlike the mini stereo jack fitting which even if the iPhone drops out of a pocket will stay connected even with some force and has many times saved my iPhone with a dangle from a fall. Sounds like either the socket or the cable or both is defective. If it is constantly falling out and not properly connecting, then something is clearly wrong. If you can get access to another phone you could at least try it on that, which would give some indication as to whether the issue is with the cable or the phone.

Rubber band gets in the way a bit when using the phone though. I used a flat tipped plastic toothpick. IMHO after 50 years of being involved with electronics, the lightning port is not a really good design in the service for which it is intended.

If you have some canned air, that will come in handy too. Gently insert the toothpick all the way into the charge port and see if you can feel any debris. Be careful to not scratch the sides of the charge port too hard.

I haven't found anyone else with the same problem so far, so what I would like to know is: Is there something I can do to fix this without sending it in to service? If I have to send it in to service, that's fine, I just wouldn't prefer to. As far as this being the charger's fault, I have tried it with other chargers and friend's chargers to no avail, I also have tried my charger in other iPhones and they don't slip out at all, What is going on? Phones are annoying. Yes, they are convenient, placing a variety of tools and functions at your fingertips, including the internet. But what happens when you deplete your battery? Without a charger, your phone is useless. And unfortunately, chargers are not always trustworthy.
