The caves in ARK: Survival Ascended act as a series of small trials that survivors must fight through to retrieve valuable loot and unique artifacts. Often overrun with strong and dangerous creatures, most commonly Onycs and Araneos, the caves in ARK: Survival Ascended require thoughtful preparation before entering. Onyc can be particularly pesky to deal with, as they have a chance of infecting the player with deadly Mega Rabies, which can only be cured by consuming a Lesser Antidote. Restricted by size, certain dinosaurs cannot enter caves unless bred into them past the natural blockade. Furthermore, due to the layout of caves, some mounts perform better than others.

It's a simple task of following these ledges all the way around the walls of the cave to get to the bottom. There is a shortcut about halfway through the cave that requires a risky jump.

After a long hesitation i've finally decided to try one of Ark's "easiest" caves, not just to visit, it was so that i can get a decent amount of Chitin because i needed some,. And honestly i wasn't expecting it to be that difficult, groups of spiders and scorpions coming at me every single step, i havent died once but it was hard to fight with,. I haven't even reached the nearest Artifact that i already wanted to go back to the surface, while returning at the surface i met again some spiders, one of my tames got its torpor very high so he went unconscious, i was feeding it stimulants until he woke up and then decided to finally reach the surface. TIPS: if you're a low level player who's equiped with a metal hatchet or something, don't even try to enter the cave, instant die lol. Anyways not to mention that i'm Level 61, and this was meant to be the "easiest cave" lol, then i wonder how others caves are. At the end i left the cave with chitin on my inventory, which is good.

The Northern Ice Cave is a stunning, cold cave protected by an underwater entrance. The reward for exploring this ice paradise is the Artifact of the Clever, as well as the Artifact of the Devourer.
