Background: The use of wearable cuffless blood pressure BP devices is becoming commercially prevalent with little published validation information. Most devices rely, at least in part, on the relationship between pulse arrival time PAT and BP, a theoretical fundamental relationship that was first commercially exploited in with the release of the Casio BP digital watch. Device accuracy was determined by comparison to a conventional cuff-based BP device measurements. Methods: Twenty participants 11 female, 9 male had BP measured using both devices at rest, during a 5-minute isometric hand-grip exercise and at 1-minute post-exercise. Results: Due to bidirectional scatter of BP estimation by the BP device, there was no significant difference between the reference device and the BP Conclusions: Despite being an industry first, the Casio BP watch employed a method that gives a great chance of accuracy: a two point, individualized calibration method - more detailed than calibration methods in more modern devices. The watch, on average across a cohort, provided some information on BP directional change but was uncorrelated with cuff-based BP measurement.

The module number is actually and you really need to read the manual to appreciate what the watch can do. Still here, though I am now in my seventies.

Does anyone know where I might find instructions for these? It i impossible for me at least to figure out how to do anything with either, and I'm sure these both work-just replaced button cells with a CR for the blood pressure watch and a CR for the TV remote control watch. Chas-I owe you one! Thank you so much, exactly what I was hoping for, I will use both. A surprise- the blood pressure monitor watch apparently stored my father's settings! Since he passed away 14 years ago, this ended up being even more special now as I see how it works.

The pad on the right is one lead of a two-lead ECG probe that's built into the watch, the other lead is on the watch backplate. Was just thinking yesterday, I haven't heard from you in awhile. Do you know if the BP module got upgraded in the latter compared to the former? Background: The use of wearable cuffless blood pressure BP devices is becoming commercially prevalent with little published validation information. The watch has a separate memory to retain this data. The pad on the left reads the pulse using a photosensor, exactly like the Lungman. JavaScript is disabled. The module number is actually and you really need to read the manual to appreciate what the watch can do. Therefore, you have to input some basic data into the watch before using any of its blood pressure features. In addition, your right hand can only touch the two sensors when measuring because otherwise you would create an alternate conduction path. Or am I wrong? Conclusions: Despite being an industry first, the Casio BP watch employed a method that gives a great chance of accuracy: a two point, individualized calibration method - more detailed than calibration methods in more modern devices. The watch also retains data from each measurement in its memory and these can be recalled showing the time and date of the measurement.

The pad on the right is one lead of a two-lead ECG probe that's built into the watch, the other lead is on the watch backplate. Therefore, you have to input some basic data into the watch before using any of its blood pressure features. The watch is in fine condition, with its original strap and clear crystal, doesn't seem to have had much use at all. I do still exercise pretty regularly though. I sense these will be gradually gaining in collectability. Methods: Twenty participants 11 female, 9 male had BP measured using both devices at rest, during a 5-minute isometric hand-grip exercise and at 1-minute post-exercise. The watch also retains data from each measurement in its memory and these can be recalled showing the time and date of the measurement. I thought though how much more convenient it would be if a watch on the wrist could measure it and good old Casio used to make one in their gadget heavy days. Background: The use of wearable cuffless blood pressure BP devices is becoming commercially prevalent with little published validation information. So I fabricated another connection and voila the thing worked. This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. I hope you are in good health and manage to keep your BP in check! It is Japan made.
