Text description provided by the architects. Catapulted from an inclination to retreat from urban realities, The Cabin House swiftly transforms the pre-pandemic notion of our dwellings. Embracing a quiet reflection of modern lifestyle and vernacular nuances, cabin archdaily, the design for the sqm sqft cabin archdaily has been developed from a simple brief of experiencing nature at close quarters. Nestled in the lush greenery of South Bangalore, resides the one-bedroom weekend home for a family of three.

Text description provided by the architects. Little Black Cabin is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom, bespoke small space that is luxurious and peaceful. The year-old cottage was salvaged, restored, and transformed from a dilapidated shack into a luxurious and highly crafted architectural cabin. At 28 sqm, the cabin is one of the most unique, bespoke projects in the Blue Mountains. An insulated skin of Shou Sugi Ban wraps the existing cottage to provide protection against the elements and bushfire attacks.

Cities around the world are facing new questions of urban flight. As the COVID pandemic spread, it exacerbated a range of living conditions and housing crises, from telecommuting and construction to global economies. With the possibility of the pandemic stretching on for years, more urbanites are considering the move to rural areas and small towns. As part of the week-long Cabin Fever program, students from 65 universities around the world were given the opportunity to build seven contemporary timber cabins in a nomadic, lush countryside, mentored by international architects. As a result of the week-long effort, the rural area was transformed into a cutting-edge working village featuring cabins on wheels, cabins on stilts, and multi-story homes. Text description provided by the architects. The Lake Tahoe Cabins is comprised of three discrete structures that traverse the rugged and complex Crystal Bay shoreline. The individual structures are linked by a glazed bridge whose footprint kinks precisely around a mass of pre-historic Sierra granite. The unique arrangement of cabins creates recreational alcoves before approaching the lake. On the second level, the great room and kitchen expand the entire east-facing facade.
