The resident of the home, Jason Coy, age 41, was arrested in Chico April 16, , on charges of petty theft and possession of stolen property after being found with items stolen from a home in North Chico. During the search of the home, deputies located numerous items of stolen property, including firearms, ammunition, chainsaws, power tool equipment, and generators. A butane honey oil lab was also discovered, along with a significant amount of methamphetamine. Deputies believe the stolen items are related to unsolved burglaries from North Chico and southern Tehama County. Jason Coy was arrested on several charges, including the manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of stolen property, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of ammunition. A third person at the home, Jose Ortiz Hernandez, age 24, was also arrested on a charge of possession of a stolen firearm. Anyone living in North Chico or southern Tehama County who was the victim of a burglary and had construction equipment stolen is urged to contact Sgt. Wednesday, according to a news release from BCSO. The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle accelerated, failed to yield and continued driving toward the Oroville area. Deputies pursued the vehicle; the vehicle exited the freeway and began driving on Oroville surface streets, causing law enforcement to end the pursuit for public safety purposes.
