By Monica Greep For Mailonline. Great British Bake Off star Briony Williams has revealed how she never asked for help while appearing on the show because she didn't want to be labelled as 'disabled'. The mother-of-one, 35, from Bristol, who was born with a left hand which stops at the wrist, was a semi-finalist on the baking programme in She appeared on Loose Women today and said that years of 'unkind experiences' with men while she was growing up had made her self-conscious of her deformity. She said the baking programme had helped her feel more confident about her disability, saying: 'For six years I have been accepting of my hand, but since Bake Off I'm now very proud of it.
