While there are undeniably moments in this manga that have excited the fans, especially towards the beginning phases, the path that it has taken ever since has been somewhat tumultuous. The hit anime got its start years ago once Naruto: Shippuden wrapped, and it has explored the Hidden Leaf during times of peace. However, the Naruto anime seems to have lost its way with Boruto as of late, and it is time we admit a hiatus is all but inevitable. The problem plaguing Boruto has been around for as long as the anime has been on the air. We have Boruto filler to blame for the mess.

It's the end of Boruto : Naruto Next Generations the anime, but the beginning of Boruto's own story, as preparations commence for producing a follow-up animated series to the long-running Naruto sequel. After six years of nearly weekly content that produced almost episodes, it's safe to say that Boruto is incredibly prolific. At episodes, Boruto has already eclipsed the original Naruto's However, productivity can be a burden for anime, especially when the manga source material has only 79 chapters and is on a monthly publication schedule. In Boruto 's case, while it's done a solid job adapting the manga, a large part of the series has been focussed on non-canonical stories. While these filler episodes vary in quality, many fans would argue these are problematic because there was little effort to link or tie them into the underlying Boruto-Naruto universe. Though not much is known about the second part of the prolific anime series, here is everything fans know about the Boruto anime's second part.

Many Naruto fans, myself included, hung up our leaf village headbands back in March of with the culmination of the number one hyperactive knucklehead ninja Naruto Uzumaki finally becoming the Hokage i. Sadly, that means its fandom discourse has remained steadfast as well. This braggadocious claim has led to a schoolyard fandom war between Boruto and One Piece fans on TikTok , because the latter regard the long-running anime as the best ongoing shonen anime. Part of why lapsed fans like myself had no interest in reading or watching Boruto is due to series creator, Masashi Kishimoto not being directly involved with it until recently. Whenever fans like myself check up on the current goings on in Boruto , we collectively scratch our heads at the absurdity of arcs like Sasuke Retsuden , in which Sasuke battled and befriended a velociraptor in order to defeat a brontosaurus. Both parties desperately need to take a chill pill.

Hopefully that will be the case. So while you may not want to hear it, a Boruto hiatus is just about the only thing that can keep the anime on its rails now. It's been running for over 6 years now. This supply issue would not be a problem if Boruto was animated seasonally, but that is not how Studio Pierrot handles the title. Forums New posts. Regardless of whether that's actually good for the series or not. I wonder. This is the norm, and it is the precise reason why Netflix often cancels shows after 2 seasons - because even good shows only ever go down in views over time. Whatever little connection the series held to Naruto with the title now vanished and of course, the plot, while somewhat interesting, kept going through the same cycles again, which included uninteresting storylines, and of course, treating the old Naruto characters as if they were non-existent. What's new. Ruthless Tsuchikage said:. With these exciting changes being made to the story, many fans are usually drawn to post timeskip volumes. If that were to be the case, then there is every chance for Boruto anime to return later down the line as well, which would then help boost the volumes even further. SuperSaiyaMan12 said:. They could. Sagebee said:. However, at the moment, this looks like a fantasy for the fans, and the only part that Boruto seems to have in front of it is cancellation. Highlights Boruto's popularity took a sharp decline over time, with volume sales consistently dropping lower after the initial success. So far, the series looks like it will continue and fans will most likely get volume 2 of the story as well, with volume three likely releasing later down the line as well. Even getting cancelled now would be considered a commercial success by the industry standard, but I doubt that's happening any time soon. The show began its Code arc this month, and that story is currently being explored in the manga.
I join. I agree with told all above.
