In Blue Lock , Jinrachi Ego's purpose in creating the Blue Lock program was all about discovering the greatest striker in the world. Being a great striker is about having the capability to reliably score goals when one's team needs them. However, players can't ignore the fact that sometimes, the best offense is a great defense. Even though scoring the most goals will separate a player from their teammates as the best striker, winning games ultimately requires stopping the opponent from scoring, too, and that's what differentiates the great strikers from the absolute best. A striker's main job on the field is to be the final piece on offense, but the most complete players in Blue Lock can turn amazing defensive plays into offensive opportunities. Against Team V, Jinrachi displayed his capacity for incredible defense by completely shutting down Reo to the point that he began to have a mental breakdown.

Shidou is one of the strongest Blue Lock characters, and his personality also matches up with Jinpachi's ideal image of a striker. Aiku's raw physical strength is also unmatched by most of the other Blue Lock characters. Even though he definitely let in more goals than he saved, Okuhito deserves bonus points for remaining in a position he isn't good at and still doing his best. Karasu may be arrogant, but he's a surprisingly good leader. Zantetsu's strikes pack a punch, even when he's passing the ball, making it next to impossible for opposing players to predict his movements. Along with Mikage , he also participated in the Blue Lock Project and ended up in the same team as him which is Team V. Given his incredibly long reach, Aryu is a difficult player to match up with for any striker. He's excellent at strategizing and coming up with new plays on the spot, making him the Blue Lock 11's lifeline during particularly tough matches. Aside from being an amazing striker in the field, he has a big downside and that would be his poor vision. He cost his high school team a spot in the national competition because he made the fatal mistake of passing rather than shooting. During the course of the series, Mikage took part in different football roles such as being a forward, center back, and a center midfielder making him an amazing all-rounder and a great teammate. Now for our best defenders, we start off with Teppei Neru. The Blue Lock Eleven were hand picked by Ego after the Third Selection and he admits he chose a team that would be centered around Blue Lock's star player, Rin Itoshi and was hyper aggressive; so even if some Blue Lock players were more skilled than the ones chosen they didn't make the cut because of compatibility and utility issues. Because for Shido, football is a sport where he becomes complete and that is why he really is a true expert in the field. This means that Ryusei Shido is definitely one of the most egotistical players out there and will definitely do everything it takes to become the best player in Japan.
