Local family-owned business Black Bond Books has announced it will be purchasing Hager Books, a staple in the independent book community. According to a joint news release, the management team at Hager has been looking for a good steward of their lovely little gem of a bookstore for some time. They saw the care and success that Black Bond had achieved with the Book Warehouse acquisition 10 years ago and felt this would continue the longevity of the bookstore without losing the quaint feel their customers love.

Today, the family-owned Black Bond Books announced that it will be buying another independent retailer, Hager Books, which is at West 41st Avenue. The founder of Hager Books, Louise Hager, described this as a fabulous match because both have emphasized a community-focused approach to bookselling throughout their histories.
