On a mission to build a road that cuts right through a lush forest, Bhaskar Sharma Varun Dhawan finds himself turning into a werewolf, you know, the creature that bays at the full moon, howls reverberating through the valley. In fact, juvenalia reigns supreme pretty much throughout the film. Much of the humour takes the scatological route, finding its jollies in, literally, people sitting on the pot, excrement, and the sights and smells thereof. And given that these guys are on screen most of the time, peak silly idiocy performed with sureness is pretty much what we get. It adds to the mythology of Streeverse which is awesome. While cinematographer Jishnu Bhattacharjee has created the dark and enigmatic world of werewolves with the backdrop of the full moon in the midnight sky, jungles of Ziro and mountains splendidly, the vfx are outstanding. Paabin Kabak as one of the main protagonist was brilliant casting as well as the song sung by K4Kekho was just great. Hats off to the writer Niren Bhatt Asur, Bala and amazing visual effects. The movie is a perfect blend of thriller and comedy. The group goes to an elderly doctor for treatment; he informs them that the only way for Bhaskar to be cured is for him to be bitten by the same wolf on a new moon night in the same location. The film has many jumpscares and the background score only makes things scarier. The scenes where we get close ups of VD transforming into a wolf is amazing and even horrifying seeing the half human half wolf face of VD , that look can be used in horror films. In the firat half, the runtime feels stretched. Comedy worked well and never felt over the top in any place , especially Abhishek Banerjee did great. Not as good as stree, but something original and an origin werewolf story set in india.
