Well, no more. Here it is — enjoy it, my dear tapas friends! Oh, and did I mentioned their signature cocktails? I was dragged to the Douro by a dear friend of mine, and I am glad he did so because The Door is indeed one of the best tapas restaurants in Porto. Located right behind the Portuguese Center of Photography a former jail, by the way , The Door is a small yet very cosy restaurant where you will able to try great tapas like Black Angus Carpaccio, Argentinian empanadas and Alheira slices a traditional Portuguese sausage. There are also plenty of vegetarian options, like the beetroot hummus. But for me, the star of the night were the fresh oysters from Aveiro a city just 60km South of Porto , that were available that night.

The cheesecake was very beautiful and creative. Cantina 32 is a popular restaurant in the center of Porto that serves creative petiscos tapas. Everything looked so good but it was too close to dinnertime, so we decided to come back the next morning for breakfast. Enough with the alheira sausage and greens! The former Bagus grocery was conceptually revamped by chef Hugo Rocha. There's also draught beer and wine available, table service, and a accommodating staff who speak multiple languages making it easy for tourists to order. Make a reservation in advance or come right when they open as it's a popular restaurant. What a wonderful concept, delicious ingredients from all around Portugal. Both wine and food comes from their own production. As a bustling city of growing global relevance, Porto is always evolving, adapting to the ever-changing trends of the globalized world in its food and entertainment options. The tuna was so so so good. Nevertheless, I can tell you which is my favourite. Fabulously professional and multi-lingual staff happily take time to walk you though a nicely curated menu of cheese, cold meats, sausage and fascinating seafood choices. We had a pasta dish and a flatbread and both were excellent. The server was extremely knowledge and friendly.
