Best saints row game
The 3rd Street Saints, those lovable gangsters who serve as the protagonists of the Saints Row series, have been through more genre shifts than the Fast and the Furious crew.
With luck, they'll be able to bounce back elsewhere. But the original Volition studio is now no more. The rights to Saints Row will likely go to Deep Silver who, depending on their whims, may bring the series back via another developer, or lock it in the vault for years to come. Whatever happens, people can still track down the main games and give them a spin for now. But which ones are the best of the bunch?

Never played them since I'm not real big into open-world games, but they're dirt cheap on Steam right now so figured I'd give one a try. I literally started playing IV today and it seems freaking awesome but maybe play The Third and come back for IV if you're up for more. Personally, the third is the best, and IV is a cool full scale addon; it uses the same city from the third but adds in some new stuff and powers. People will still make arguments for Saints Row 2 as well, and it also isn't a bad choice, it's just a lot more grounded than the later games. Two or The Third depending on your taste. Some people are die-hard two fans. Not me. Gimme The Third any day. I'll just echo most of what others have said, the third. To me it felt like a game that found it's own identity, embraced the crazy and broke away from being in the same category as a "GTA clone". Overall the gameplay was fun and I felt balanced, never too frustrating, great cast of characters and some of the best use of licensed music in perfect situations. The Third is a wonderful game. It's got some issues with tone in a couple of missions and some dull QTE combat sequences and there's also a terribly unfunny anime-y minigame, and that's about it for negatives as far as I'm concerned. It's an achievement of a game, fun and funny and a joy to play. The superpowers and new health system are cool, but you never get to use them for the story stuff, they are disabled constantly.

Oh sure, I enjoy GTA games, and I put a lot of hours into them, but nothing compels me to see them through. But Saints Row games? I take over every district in the entire city, every time. I do every side mission. I recruit a huge posse and deck them all out in purple outfits.

The 3rd Street Saints, those lovable gangsters who serve as the protagonists of the Saints Row series, have been through more genre shifts than the Fast and the Furious crew. While the franchise began life as a Grand Theft Auto-alike, later installments have seen our heroes become superheroes in a virtual reality simulation, move their headquarters to a spaceship after the destruction of planet Earth, and become pawns in a battle between God and the Devil. How does a gangster acquire superpowers you ask? Oh you know, the usual way - become President of the United States after subverting a terrorist attack, suffer an alien invasion that results in the destruction of the planet, and become trapped in a virtual reality simulation of Steelport, the city from Saints Row: The Third. Over the top and loaded with pop culture sendups, Saints Row IV cobbles elements from the aforementioned Crackdown , The Matrix , Mass Effect , Prototype , Metal Gear Solid and many more in a zany, willfully ridiculous brew that while entertaining, can certainly overstay its welcome. But any game that stars actor Keith David as himself and your villainous Vice President knows what it's about, and for that alone Saints Row IV deserves props. Capping off the original trilogy, the Saints have risen from the streets to become a marketing entity with sponsorships and branding. Whether dropkicking civilians out of their vehicles, slugging baddies in the nethers with a giant purple dildo just one of the many ridiculous weapons in the game, including a grenade launcher that shoots mind-controlling mollusks or rampaging through the city in your birthday suit with a dedicated streaker button! Narratively, the series has never been stronger, with its tale of the run-down Saints battling their way back up to the top of the food chain providing relatable human struggles and friendships in terms later games never approach.

There are maybe districts on the Santo Ileso map. Beware of the all powers trophy glitch if you're going for a plat though. Saints Row: The Third was the installment in the series that changed the game forever. Two or The Third depending on your taste. Developer s Deep Silver. The thing is, after placing each of the businesses, the player is presented with between five and fourteen fourteen! While Saints Row 2 still has some jank from the first game like shooting from vehicles, etc. Sure, there are a few bugs in the game, but most of them are kinda funny. The rights to Saints Row will likely go to Deep Silver who, depending on their whims, may bring the series back via another developer, or lock it in the vault for years to come. And giant snake statues. But they couldn't change the new gang from being bland Gen Z stereotypes. Because of this, the game received multiple mixed reviews.
Saints never felt so good. Pimp that ride. Customize your weapons and vehicles with a vast amount of mods to earn and steal.

And each of the many businesses has its own mission mechanics, none of which are the same. Beware of the all powers trophy glitch if you're going for a plat though. The Saints Row series has naturally always gotten comparisons to Grand Theft Auto , but this is the game that feels most like a GTA game and however you interpret that is kind of up to you. Platform s Xbox One , Xbox Overall the gameplay was fun and I felt balanced, never too frustrating, great cast of characters and some of the best use of licensed music in perfect situations. Its great stuff. Oh you know, the usual way - become President of the United States after subverting a terrorist attack, suffer an alien invasion that results in the destruction of the planet, and become trapped in a virtual reality simulation of Steelport, the city from Saints Row: The Third. It was also an Xbox exclusive, so unless it gets its own remaster some day, only those with Microsoft machines can play it. It seems that every city block has some weird little touch that makes it special and unique. Despite this, the game performed well financially. Gimme The Third any day.
