If you're flying to Mallorca during the day, your first experience of dining with incredible views might well be on the plane while you dig into a packet of peanuts. Personally, I can't help feeling a thrill when those majestic cliffs of Cap de Formentor come into view. Of course, it doesn't need to stop there and, fortunately, you don't need to be thousands of metres up in the sky to enjoy stunning vistas. Mallorca is full of them. Here are some recommendations where feasting on the view is a must.

Fast forward to today, any visitor that walks through the main gates of this walled city will have noticed that a lot of the area has been lovingly restored back to its former glory with a dash of modern flair. Some streets are residential, some have hotels, while others have historical and religious significance such as the church of Sant Jaume. Our main focus for this part of the post is the town square of the Old Town of Alcudia. It is this part of Alcudia where the first of our recommended 5 restaurants that I recommend for you to dine and experience yourself.

When you walk through the main gate into the walled, medieval town itself, a kind of magic seems to happen. Most buildings inside the walls have been lovingly maintained and restored. Around each corner, you can find a fresh architectural surprise, a square buzzing with cafes and rows of sandstone houses with traditional green shutters. In the old town the Neo-Gothic style of the Sant Jaume church is seen reflected in the buildings that surround it, where sandstone and intricate details continue down its cobbled streets. On Sundays and Tuesdays, the open market spreads through much of the town attracting locals and tourists alike. In the evening, the town is lit by warm lamplight. This gives the colourful buildings a soft, pleasing glow.

Experience the warm ambiance of an Italian trattoria, complete with a covered terrace. Mediterranean cuisine. Great place for lunch, we tried a few tapas and they were amazing. The traditional tapas and some other dish combinations are available on the menu. See the list of all 4 sites we checked out. Chinese Contemporary. You get what you pay for! Really nice Mediterranean Restaurant. Great food plus we had a delicious jug of Sangria. Lamb on the bone with vegetables and potatoes was very tasty, pizzas were good. Not usually my kind of place as I prefer to go more traditional but the family overruled me.
