Such players thrive within these treacherous territories, constructing bases and taming beasts to defend their people and their riches. However, equally daring players intend to reap the rewards of plunder from these bases, and to do so, acquire the strongest of beasts to raid these locations. PvP underwater brings to name some useful dinos and creatures, most notably the Plesi and the Mosa. However, other possible bounty lies underneath the waves, one I believe has been overlooked greatly and would prove quite useful in underwater raid and defense: the Dunkleosteus. Conclusion: The Dunkleosteus does not have the power of the Mosa or Plesi, the widely-accepted beasts of the sea.

Hello everyone! I have recently been thinking about getting this creature to collect oil, and I was wondering how to tame them. Some info might help. With an Ichthy, you can shoot from the safety of the mount so long as you don't let the Dunk kill it. But, Dunks are slow, so it is possible to tame them by just out swimming them; assuming you are using scuba or similar. And, if I recall correctly, they will not come above a certain depth, like Mosa and Plesios. Dunks take reduced damage, so it take a lot more hits to take them out. With a crossbow, there is a risk of killing a high level Dunk if they have low health. And, if you have it, you will want to use Superior Kibble or better. Mutton also works, but you will lose TE. Another way to tame them it to build a taming trap on the ocean floor with pillars, ceilings, and a dino door I believe they fit through those. Ceiling does not have to be solid, can be ever other row. If you can lure them to a where you can get out of the water, such as an underwater cave, then that opens up using a Long Rifle and Tranq Darts.

It tends to eat the Island's water-dwelling crustaceans trawling the seabed, as it is not fast enough to catch most of the smaller fish. Dunkleosteus is surprisingly combat-oriented for a fish.
Dunkleosteus Loricaruptor is a carnivorous sea creature from the late Devonian period that has docile temperament. These creatures appear to be heavily armored due to the thickness and sturdiness of its armored plates that cover its body. Many of these can be seen wandering in the depths, swimming around in less open areas where they remain in solitude from other sea creatures. Although the Dunkleosteus is a carnivorous creature, they do not necessarily seek out and hunt humans or tamed creatures but they will retaliate once they feel threatened. Tamed Dunkleosteus are one of the favorite choices of tribes due to its ability to shatter ores with its tail, making it excellent for farming different resources from them. The Dunkleosteus is very large in size and tends to feed on crustaceans that lurk in the water which is done easily due to its powerful jaws that are strong enough to even crush rocks. Not only does this creature have jaws that can break stones and shells from other creatures but it also has sturdy plates that cover its body, protecting it from harm. Some tribes seek these creatures out due to the vast amount of chitin that can be harvested from its body while others utilize it for destroying underwater rocks and veins in order to harvest resources. The Dunkleosteus is capable of destroying underwater rocks and veins which allows it to harvest the resources from them.
