America's Next Top Model has given society many things: the word "smize," the philosophical concept of "pot ledom," and—of course—the haunting knowledge that at any given time, Tyra Banks only has one picture in her hands. Ya know, if we had to guess. Like, remember when everyone was lowered into an eight-foot-deep grave for a shoot that was simply themed Happy times. We've been through enough! On that note: I only have 38 photos in my internet-hands, and all of them represent some of the wildest photo shoots from this forever-iconic show. Now isn't a time to pick favorites, but if forced, I'd like to issue a special shoutout to Diana from Cycle 8, who had to pretend her "organs were stolen by a model" in a corpse-themed shoot that left me without words. The concept of this shoot was And there was an ambulance lurking on set just in case anyone fell into said hole. Jay assured everyone that this eight-legged friend was safe to be around, but noted that they also had "EMS on the side. Waiting for Tyra to apologize to the astro girlies for this entire shoot. Just want to add that the advice for cradling this vase was: "Think of it as your infant. Following aspiring models vying to get a chance to win the then-coveted title, America's Next Top Model had — for the longest time — enjoyed a reasonable amount of success. It was once a popular and highly regarded reality competition program until audiences revisited some of the show's earlier seasons and discovered everything incredibly offensive and wrong with the reality series. The show Tyra Banks hosted and created back in received long-overdue criticism for its problematic and controversial moments from the first until the last season. America's Next Top Model has been heavily criticized not only for the comments made by the judges but also for how it harshly treated its contestants, resulting in the once-successful reality series never seeing the light of day again. But while the show has long been considered dead for not aging fairly well — without producing many or any successful models, as it ought to — America's Next Top Model has had its fair share of "next-level fierce" moments, too.

What made this shoot so memorable: Honestly, every time I think about this shoot, it makes me realize how many variations of dolls there are out there. What made this shoot so memorable: The devil works hard, but CariDee getting hypothermia in this shoot to get the perfect shot proves that she works harder. What made this shoot so memorable: I have nothing saucy to say — I friggin' love this shoot. What made this shoot so memorable: Every time I tight-line with eyeliner, I think of this shot of Brittani. What made this shoot so memorable: I just remember when they said that it was funny that the one girl was portraying a cactus right because she had a prickly disposition. What made this shoot so memorable: I just love an on-the-nose theme — models modeling as the designers they model clothes for. What made this shoot so memorable: I get what they were trying to do here

Viewers and fans of America's Next Top Model have seen thousands of photographs taken over the series' nearly year run. Each cycle of each season has its own unique set of photoshoots in which the models compete for a chance to take home the top prize by its end. Some of the photoshoots have been fun and interesting, some, confusing or problematic, and still others, downright dangerous. The series showcased the models' work ethic, patience, and ability to take a gorgeous shot despite being caked in paint, made up like a doll, or posing with hay bales in a country landscape. In episode 8 of the fourth season, each of the seven remaining models was assigned to be one of the seven deadly sins: Wrath, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Sloth, and Pride. These are the seven vices that run contrary to the heavenly virtues that sprang from Christian and other religious teachings. Kahlen's depiction of Wrath was particularly stunning with her snarling mouth and red and black outfit. Her pose was also severe. Her arm is placed hard against the side of the coffin she is in, like she's trying not to snap out of it and devour the object of her anger. Naima's rendition of Envy was also memorable, as she takes a subversive approach by channeling longing and want towards what she covets, instead of conveying the usual bitter, demanding tones one would think of.

If you're wondering whether or not someone was forced to dress as both Donald Trump and Melania Trump, the answer is, regrettably, yes. Cycle 11 had its fair share of exceptional photoshoots as well, including the hot air balloon couture, fierce eyes above water, and mod-style natural disasters. And though it took some of us years to realize there's something radically wrong with ANTM — and that Cassandra had been right for leaving all along — ANTM 's extreme makeovers used to be one of the show's "defining" aspects. Director David Barnett also lived at this house. Though the "model" crocodile was slaying it, Kahlen's natural talent for modeling matched the animal's energy.
