Nugent's goal came 20 minutes into the intermediate contest as Cullyhanna led to at half-time. In the earlier junior final, Arva overcome Listowel Emmets to In front of 8, spectators, the intermediate decider was tight and tense at first, before a thunderous Pearse Casey point and a superb Nugent score from just inside the metre line put St Patrick's to ahead. Then came the three-pointer, when Mickey Murray's short dropped short but was gathered by Neil McCreesh, and he supplied Nugent who finished emphatically into the roof of the net, which helped his side to their four-point interval advantage. In the second half, Cullyhanna were starved of possession for long spells, but their opponents couldn't exploit that on the scoreboard. Cill na Martra kicked the All-Ireland title away, as they missed an astonishing 18 scoring chances, with 16 wides and two shots dropped short. Cullyhanna were more clinical, and Shea Hoey and Jason Duffy punished the Cork side for their profligacy, as they rounded out the scoring with Cullyhanna four ahead. Glen's Conor Glass celebrates scoring his goal against St Brigid's. Storm Isha played its part in this All-Ireland club senior football final at a blustery Croke Park, but it was nothing compared to the impact of Conor Glass who proved an unstoppable force as he inspired Glen to a whirlwind comeback. But the difference in the end was Glass. And while it might seem oversimplified to toss the outcome of this club final on the shoulders of one player, rarely has anybody lofted a team upon their back and carried them over the line like Glass did on Sunday. They had also been reduced to men for a minute period when Cathal Mulholland received a black card in the 48th minute. The prospect of losing two All-Ireland finals in 12 months looked very realistic. So, when Conleth McGuckian popped a quick free in the direction of Glass with just two minutes of normal time remaining, and three points separating the sides, it was clear Glen would need something special to wriggle out of the hole in which they found themselves.
