Not only does the book shed light on the life and actions of Alexander Hamilton , but it also explores how he is related to other historical figures.
Alexander hamilton the graphic history of an american founding father
The United States of America had a difficult birth. I typically avoid graphic novels with a historical, political, or biographical theme. Lately, however, I have found myself more drawn to these. Alexander Hamilton is all of these historical, political, biographical in one. George Washington trusted Hamilton, and history was made. However, Hamilton staked his reputation on his Federalist efforts, and he paid the price socially and fiscally. So this is the story of a man who gave it all for his nation. He lets them be human, showing all their improprieties and foibles. What does it mean for key pioneers of liberty such as Jefferson and Washington to own slaves? What about the man, Hamilton, who founded the national bank and led the nation out of debt, yet was fiscally irresponsible with his own money and died with enormous personal debt?
Though only pages, it was far too densely packed with background information, and not enough dialogue. But—believe it or not—Hamilton did play a part in a whoppingly influential episode that figures both into the history of American beer and the history of American and international jurisprudence!

You'll follow Alexander Hamilton from his birth amid the sweltering, boom-and-bust sugar plantations of the 18th Century Caribbean islands to his scandalous and fatal destiny on the shores of New York's Hudson River—where the shot of a pistol fired by no less than the sitting Vice President of the United States brought him down. The American Revolution. The often inglorious and turbulent times that followed. The clash of worldviews out of which the Constitution was born. The policies that put America's economy on track from Third World squalor to global dominance… …and which some of the greatest names in American history fought tooth and nail to prevent. Was Hamilton a hero? Was his character and intellect spectacularly ahead of the curve? Did he—as some claim—almost single-handedly deliver modern America to us?

I'm a massive Hamilton fan and a massive graphic novel fan, so this was the best of both worlds. If Jonathan Hennessey worked more on fining his storytelling skills, learned not to cramp information together, and found a solid flow between Point A to Point B, this would be an excellent graphic novel for those interested in Alexander Hamilton and or history. Perhaps that is just a result of the medium used to tell the story. This graphic history takes us from his childhood in the West Indies to his death by duel on July 12, Hennessey, Jonathan.
