The webcam shows part of the Fisherman's beach on the left, the hotel terrace, the tunnel access below, the Peneco beach, the beach lift and the entrance to the marina on the right. The beaches of Albufeira and the surrounding areas are famous for their natural beauty and cleanliness and vary from wide open expanses of golden sand to secluded rocky coves. Water sports can be found on many of the beaches and include sailing, windsurfing, pedalos and some motorised sports such as waterskiing, jet skiing and banana boats. Sun beds and parasols are readily available for hire from all beaches and during peak season there are lifeguards on duty at most of the beaches. This beach is located at the front of the Old Albufeira town. It is a very wide stretch of golden sand with a back drop of golden red cliffs. There are also some stunning rock formations in the sea. Water sports are on offer here and sun beds and parasols are available for hire. There are brightly coloured fishing boats lined up at the back of the beach depicting how it looked when it was once a small fishing village. There are bars and restaurants lining the beach, many serving fresh fish. This beach is located to the West of Old Town Albufeira. Access to this beach is through a tunnel which has been drilled through the cliffs, which is close to the old town square.

Dessert was another trio of choices: a baked simple concoction of eggs, milk, sugar and cinnamon served with strawberries, apple cake and a nut cake full of almonds and hazelnuts. Oura is a stunning sandy bay with many water sports on offer such as parasailing, pedalos, banana boats and windsurfing. Dick and I made the journey discovering a historical delight not yet taken over by tourists. Quiet, comfortable and spacious apartments are all fitted with a kitchen and can accommodate up to 8 people. Dipped in olive oil, these were to die for! Salgados Salgados Beach is a wide, flat, golden sandy beach with large areas of natural sand dunes and a natural lagoon adjoining it. Now our work began as Victor encouraged us to participate in the preparation of the meal. She studied with the locals using their traditional family recipes, some over years old. A flowery corner of the Algarve bathed by the sun all year round. The entire meal was a sample of the wonderful week ahead and an ending to a most fabulous day.
