Adeptus mechanicus
Welcome to the rules section of Codex: Adeptus Mechanicus. Whether forging your own tales of glory and infamy with narrative play or pitting yourself against your opponents in nail-biting matched play contests, the following pages present all the rules you will need to bring your Adeptus Mechanicus collection to life on the tabletop. An Adeptus Mechanicus army marching to war is a sight both terrifying and glorious, each holy warrior a disturbing fusion of Human and machine. Whether as a result of natural phenomena, apocalyptic internecine strife or calamitous accidents, many forge worlds are heavily irradiated. When holy wars of requisition are unleashed, the Tech-Priests think nothing of turning this invisible curse upon their foes, bombarding the battlefield with deadly radiation prior to an assault. By transmitting their precision battlefield observations, this servant of the Omnissiah ensures the saturation of the enemy position is a creeping curse, spreading a hazardous suffusion towards those foes seeking to outrun the vengeance of the Machine God. This master of splintered choruses leads their followers in a projection of clashing frequencies. Scanners and sensoriums trained in their direction are befouled by the disruptive input. While the bearer is leading a unit, models in that unit have the Stealth ability. This perfectionist zealot directs their minions in the rapid and single-minded termination of all enemies of the Omnissiah. This devotee harbours a fanatical hatred of the biological. They have learned the secret weaknesses inherent in all flesh and do not hesitate to exploit them. Hunter Cohorts combine a mastery of stealth warfare and cogitational analysis with stealth screen projectors and target-fouling apparatuses. They are elusive foes to face, and especially sinister to those they have designated as prey. Proclaimed to be a direct data-link to the will of the Omnissiah himself, this neuro-entanglement matrix allows for hyper-optimised combat cogitation.
Archaeopter Transvector. In your holy quest, you have expanded the influence of your forge world in an exponential adeptus mechanicus of fervour.
The Adeptus Mechanicus is the official Imperial name within the Adeptus Terra for the Cult Mechanicus or Cult of the Machine based on Mars which provides the Imperium with its scientists, engineers and technicians. The tech-adepts of the Mechanicus are the primary keepers of what is viewed as sacred wisdom, a privileged caste of Tech-priests who jealously guard the knowledge required to maintain and construct much of the Imperium's advanced technology. In ancient times, before the current Age of the Imperium officially began following the end of the Horus Heresy , the Adeptus Mechanicus was instead called the Mechanicum. The Adeptus Mechanicus was formally separated from the larger Mechanicum of Mars by order of the Council of Terra in This occurred after the Red Planet had fallen to the control of the Hereteks who represented the Traitor faction of the Mechanicum loyal to the Warmaster Horus later called the " Dark Mechanicum. The Mechanicus acknowledge the Emperor of Mankind as the ruler of the Imperium of Man , but not the religious truth of the Imperial Cult or the Ecclesiarchy , and are granted an unusual amount of political and religious autonomy within the Imperium's structure, a role protected by the ancient Treaty of Mars. The Mechanicus essentially maintains an empire-within-an-empire in Imperial space, and its interests usually, but not always, coincide with those of the wider Imperium.

Timothy Linward. Published: May 15, A preview on the Warhammer Community website on Monday suggests that several complex army-wide rules have been removed from the Martian mechanists. The Adeptus Mechanicus are the latest Warhammer 40k faction to feature in a Faction Focus article ahead of the launch of Warhammer 40k 10th edition. As with other previews, we get a glimpse at army rules that are substantially simplified compared to the last edition — no bad things, as the Adeptus Mechanicus had one of the most bewilderingly complex Warhammer 40k Codex army books in ninth edition. The WarCom article reveals an updated version of the Doctrina Imperatives special rule. Doctrina Imperatives existed in ninth edition, but only applied to Skitarii units, and came with a penalty as well as a buff.
