Prashant Tripathi , known as Acharya Prashant , is an Indian philosopher, author and Advaita teacher. He was nominated for Padma Awards in The Times of India , in their review of Acharya's Karma: Why Everything You Know About It Is Wrong, remarked that while the book "presents the cryptic teachings of the Upanishads in a contemporary and relatable manner", its usage of terms from Advaita Vedanta makes it a difficult read for a layman. Dainik Jagran wrote about Acharya's Sambandh that "the best part about the book is that it has been written in the everyday spoken language and contains examples that are easy to understand. It is, however, difficult to keep the pace with his [author's] thoughts and writings. In an article titled New Light on Ancient Texts: Illumination or Nebulation published in The North East Times , Acharya Prashant was criticized for his interpretation of some central Indic concepts like reincarnation punarjanma , enlightenment moksha , liberation mukti and action karma. Some of his interpretations were reported to be strikingly at odds with the ones provided by some of the ancient and acclaimed commentators, forming the core of the common Indic identity.

With the yards of the best of corporate enterprises inviting him, he worked as a management professional for a few years in diverse industries. He was doing great professionally, as is expected of someone of his pedigree. But no matter how lucrative the affairs of the world are, they hold little importance when the Truth beckons. Something of the beyond was craving to find expression through the young man. A mystical and spiritual urge led to the formation of Advait Life-Education when he was 28, with a vision of bringing to people an inner clarity which is so obvious, so present, and yet missing from their lives. Around the age of 30, Acharya Prashant started speaking publicly in the form of public discourses, followed by open discussions. Soon it started becoming clear that these sessions were deeply meditative, brought the mind to a strange peace, and had a miraculously curative effect upon the psyche of the listeners. Around the same time, he started leading Self-awareness camps. He would take true seekers with him to the Himalayas, in groups of around 30 each. Five uninterrupted days of closeness to him and his magical discourses would bring the seekers a peace that is otherwise rare. Besides speaking directly on various aspects of life, Acharya Ji would discourse on spiritual texts, and masters, from across the world and across the ages. Today, thirty three such camps have been organised, and they have turned out to be deeply transformational, providing immense clarity and peace to seekers from all across the world. Acharya has been rigorously involved in delivering discourses on basic existentials like Love, Fear, Death, Greed, Jealousy, Ambition, etc. In general, he relishes speaking on Vedantic literature and his discourses have references to saints and philosophies and wisdom texts from all times and places. Not only the style of his talks but also their methodology is such that the listener establishes an instant connection and experiences a delight in the process of listening.

It is, however, difficult to keep the pace with his [author's] thoughts and writings.

New Delhi: One could call him a spiritual author rooted in Advait Vedanta. Or one could call him a most contemporary representative of all the spiritual traditions of the world. Equally, one could call him breathtakingly original and beyond any tradition. But the most appropriate way to know him would be through his work. His work is founded on compassion and expresses itself as demolition. In classical sense he is a most orthodox spiritual author, in the contemporary sense he is a veganism promoter, an environmental activist, a science activist, a campaigner against superstition, and a champion of essential human freedom. Many see him as the spiritual face of the vegan movement. Youth: Acharya Prashant has been unique in addressing the energy and conflicts of the youth. There are so many who remain indebted to him for having received lifesaving clarity at critical junctures of decision making. Women: Acharya Prashant's work has been to awaken women to their true identity beyond the compulsions of the body and the conditioning of the mind.
