Three long beeps followed by two short beeps is a memory initialization error. This means that the memory has failed. If you only have one stick of memory it is very difficult to diagnose. If you have more than one stick, you can remove all of them and replace them one stick at a time in the slot closest to the processor and boot. Test each stick this way. It still does the same thing without ram though, I took out the ram to try to boot just into the bios and it still did the same exact thing, same beep code and everything. And each ram stick gives the same beep code, i cant try the original ram stick because i gave it to my brother and he won't let me test it, do you think I possibly could've shorted something on my motherboard?

It does thus for 1p time straight then the computer states up. Could someone so kindly give me any suggestions as to what may be going on? Thank you in advanced. Those are known as beep codes. Your computer is trying to tell you something about the state of the hardware. Don't dismiss them. Since beep codes can vary across PC manufacturers actually, by motherboards , contact your manufacturer ASAP and find out what the beep codes mean. Was this reply helpful? I could plug the monitor back in once the computer started and everything seemed to work fine. Researched the issue further and found a multitude of suggestions as to what the problem could be. Came across a post suggesting an issue with displayport 1. That seemed to work, but limited the refresh rate of the monintor to 60HZ. I followed the link for the update tool, ran it, and resolved the issue.
