This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. I should have done it myself. I asked the mechanic if it wasn't kind of early for the starter to go 75, miles and he said no, but like you said maybe he can't doesn't want to differentiate between a bad starter and a bad solenoid. Isn't that a bit early for the starter to go? The arthritis certainly hurts but the money I make out of thin air keeps me in the black and virtually nothing ever has to be redone. Log in. Please consider creating a new thread. Nothing goes through the ignition relay, two fuses that have to be good there. Or yank starter to get it out in the open to be easier somewhat. And like you say maybe there was nothing wrong with the starter itself. Seems like you have to do everything yourself these days if you don't want to get ripped off.
