AVS Forum. Take a magnet, put one edge down, then let the other edge you are holding snap down into place. I this normal or a sign of the clutch going bad?

Before opening the hood to see if there is anything wrong with the AC compressor, start the Ram and turn the AC off and back on a few times. Do it somewhere quiet. Something else is the problem. Or, it may be turned by an independent belt. Inspect the belt to see if it is cracked or shiny. It could even be missing entirely without you noticing if it is an independent belt. The clutch is not getting a signal to turn on. This indicates some form of wiring problem.

Suddenly the cold air stops, and instead begins expelling that same feared heat into the cabin. Each part requires the system to be properly sealed; otherwise, the components, such as a compressor or condenser, are subject to fail. Although replacing a damaged fuse will correct the current issues, you should be aware that something caused the fuse to blow and there may be a larger problem in the system's wiring.

IE the fan is not spinning then once you started moving again the air flow cooled the condensor, and the air coming from the vent cooled. All trucks came. That is not good either. Sure enough it was my condenser fan. I'm sure it will come back, I'm guessing it the fan now. I mean you can, but it's just not worth it. Recommended Communities. AVS Forum. Warm when not moving and OK when driving due to no air being pulled across the condenser. It seems louder than I previously remember it can be heard even from inside the cab. After I got my truck back I drove it like this for about 2 months unknowingly until one day I smelled something burning. ArcF1 8 Replies. The truck is usually on with the AC on full blast for just about ten hours a day, so maybe I should be greatful that it works at all!

You're probably fine for a little while It's fairly loud because my truck is pretty thoroughly sound proofed. I also modified my condenser fan shroud so that in the winter, no puddles of water freez up and therefore freez solid the fan blades. My dad's 02 would run for a day or two before blowing the new fuse. Log in.
