The bezel project

This utility will provide a downloader for Retroarach system bezel packs to be used for various systems within RetroPie. This utility provides a download for a bezel pack for a system and includes a PNG bezel file for every ROM for that system, the bezel project.

The Bezel Project was created with the goal of making a custom bezel for every ROM with an easy install script for the raspberry pi. It has been ported over for Odroid, and Mac and I would love some help getting it over to LaunchBox for more people to enjoy! Here is more information about us from our GitHub page if that helps. I used to use a basic tool I wrote a few years ago 'rp-video-manager' but I'm thinking there are probably better ways to do it now, plus a lot more bezels available out there. So to try and review the options I made this shortlist.

If you have custom, existing RetroArch core cfg files, this app may not work as written because it must assume standard cfg names. The way to enable support for your custom names is to run the application to the initial GUI screen, then exit the app. This will have caused the app to create its ini file in the installation directory. Edit the 'Bezel Project. There you will see the predefined RetroPie system names and the associated cfg files names for that system. Either add your custom cfg name to the list of files, or replace the existing names with your own. Make sure to separate each cfg filename with a comma, then save any edits and exit your edit session.

The download will also include the necessary configuration files needed for Retroarch to show them. The script will also update the required retroarch. These changes are necessary to show the PNG bezels with an opacity of 1. Periodically, new bezel packs are completed and you will need to run the script updater to download the newest version to see these additional packs. The instructions below will demonstrate how to instal the script and have it show up in the RetroPie menu within Emulation Station. Systems with shared Retroarch cores and filenames: Only one bezel can exist for a specific game name, so systems that share the same Retroarch core and rom filename will use the same bezel.
